The staff & I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  Thank you for all you do to make our school an enjoyable place for learning and working.

Note from Mrs. Hoogerhyde: Here is a copy of a letter that came home from Mrs. Hoogerhyde earlier:

The Kindergarten through Sixth Grade classes are asked to dress in a mouse costume if possible.  My suggestion is sweat pants/shirt of a single color (either black, gray, brown or white) or any shirt/pants of the same color (again black, gray, brown or white).  I have ears and a tail for them to wear.  Parents can also draw whiskers and a mouse nose on the child’s face with eye liner.

Also, please make sure that the children arrive at school no later than 6:45 p.m.  They will meet in their classrooms to organize into groups.  If you have any questions, you can email Mrs. Hoogerhyde at hoogerika@gmail.com.

Message from De Willman: This year we used all of our wrapping paper and bags during the student Christmas shopping.  Anyone wishing to purchase these items during after Christmas sales, we will gladly accept your donations!

Help at School 20th:  Thank you parents!  I had more volunteers than needed!

Large Plastic Containers: Please send in containers that we can use for sick students.

Boys Basketball:  The boys play HOME tonight @ 5 p.m. Good luck boys!

Scrip: Last day to order Scrip for Christmas gifts was Dec. 10th, but after the new year,  Mrs. McCall will place orders when she has large enough orders.  See her if you have questions.  Check out www.stmikes.us under Current News for information from

Mrs. McCall explaining our scrip program.

Mass Days: The 5th & 6th graders will be planning the 9 a.m. Mass. Please join us!

Off Code: $1 per student for each Off Code day Wednesday, Dec. 18 and Jan.22 for Philippines Relief Effort/Catholic Relief Services. This will be our Catholic Schools project, and our classmates in grades 5 & 6 will take these funds for our school as they represent us at the Catholic Schools Week Liturgy at the cathedral.

Help!

Christmas is almost here! Which means that Easter is just around the corner!!  Fish Fry’s will soon be upon us!!!

I have taken a new job and will not be able to be there before 5:30 on Fridays.   I am looking for an individual (or two) to be my co-chair/s.  Ideally, they would be able to be there at 1:00 pm on Fridays and stay until I arrive.  Please feel free to call me to discuss this if you are at all interested.  Trust me, if I can do it, ANYONE can!

I am planning on having a meeting December 17th at 6:00 pm at the school to go over plans.  Bring your IDEAS.  We all work so hard; I want us to make as much profit as possible. Refreshments will be provided.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Box Tops & Campbell Soup Labels Contest: As you know we have begun saving labels.  This year we will have 2 teams: PS & K (36 students) vs. 1 – 6 (38 students)

Contest ends January 24, 2014.  What will the prize be for the winning team?  It is a surprise!  Wait & see!

Delays & Cancellations: St. Michael School follows Chippewa Hills' delays and cancellations.  If they are closed, we are closed.  Sometimes the television will list our name, and sometimes they do not.  There will not be morning preschool on days beginning with delays.
