Catholic School Week 9 a.m. Jan. 26th Mass: Please have students come up front on the right to sit with staff members. Students will be assigned Mass parts, so let me know by Wed. Jan. 22 if your child will NOT be able to attend this Mass. See the back for schedule of events. Talent show students may only stay in 30th & 31st to practice. Acts must be signed up by Monday, Jan. 27 & be teacher approved.
AR Off Code: Due to a funeral this Friday, our all school Mass will be Thursday, Jan. 23rd. We need to change off code days to Mon., Tues., Wed., and Fri. Thursday students need to be in code clothing for Mass. The 1st & 2nd graders will be planning the 9 a.m. Mass. Please join us! NWEA/Maps: Testing for students in grades 2 – 6 begins Tuesday, Jan. 14th. Please visit the web site at www.nwea.org and remember testing tips such as a good night’s rest plus eating a good breakfast really do help students!
Home & School Meeting: This Tuesday, Jan. 21 will be the Home & School meeting. Mrs. Babbitt and Mrs. Mickey will be presenting information about snow day packets and AR activities.
Boys Basketball: Games: at St. Mary’s Jan. 20th & at St. Peter’s Jan. 23. Tournament at Cadillac Middle School Jan. 25th. Congratulations on a fun filled basketball season, boys. We are very proud that you represented our school this year. Another thank you to Coach Kremsreiter and his assistants, Will & Jacob Beers, for sharing their time & talents with us!
Snow Days: Reminder: Last Thurs. Jan. 9th snow day # 6 packets came home. They are due Jan. 16th. Some teachers sent #7 packets home, and they are due Tuesday, Jan. 21st. Thank you. Mrs. Schoner & Staff
Box Tops & Campbell Soup Labels Contest: As you know we have begun saving labels. This year we will have 2 teams: PS & K (36 students) vs. 1 – 6 (38 students) Contest ends January 24, 2014.
Catholic School Week Activities January 26 – February 1, 2014 Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service Sunday January 26 Please join us at the 9:00 a.m. School Children’s Mass. Students please come up front & sit with staff. Following Mass we will have an open house at school with a book fair. Knights of Columbus breakfast will be in the cafeteria. Monday January 27 Guests are welcome to our Hall Prayer at 2:35. Come and see how the children gather together each week and pray. Academic Pride: Celebrate students’ high NWEA test score by wearing favorite college attire. Tuesday January 28 5/6th Graders represent St. Michael School at 11 a.m. Mass in Grand Rapids at the Cathedral with Bishop Walkowiak. Students bring a board game to share. Wednesday January 29 Wacky Wednesday- fun off code “wacky” dress. Open house noon – 3 p.m. Everyone welcome especially our wonderful volunteers. Thursday January 30 Celebrate reading with a fun day of reading in warm, cozy pajamas. Friday January 31 All school Mass at 9:00. Beginning at noon : talent show & basketball game. All are welcome. Staff luncheon. Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith: We begin with Sunday’s 9 a.m. Mass and end with Friday’s 9 a.m. Mass. Hall prayer, Mass at the cathedral and classroom religion classes demonstrate our faith. Communities of Knowledge: Celebrating the 2013 fall NWEA testing scores, report cards, and academic lessons. Show students are college bound by wearing college gear. Communities of Service: Students raised money for diocesan service project for the Philippines Relief Effort through Catholic Relief Services. Fifth & sixth graders will present their donation at the Tuesday Mass in Grand Rapids. This with various service projects going on during the week demonstrates our service.
