Ordering gift certificates for Christmas gifts this year? Want to skip long lines in stores? Want our school to receive a percent of your purchase? If your answer is yes, order through our school using our scrip program. If your answer is no, I hope you get coal in your stocking this year!

Scrip: You and I know how Christmas break will be here before we know it, so I am reminding you and myself to get our scrip Christmas orders in pretty soon. WINDING DOWN- Box Tops & Campbell Soup Contest: The contest ends December 1 PS/K; 1/ 2; 3/ 4; 5/ 6 will team up and save together. The group that saves the most will receive a BIG SURPRISE! You may send in the entire soup label or just the bar code section. All Box Tops & soup labels send to the class you want to get the credit.

Spelling Bee: Congratulations to Spencer MacKenzie, first place, and Alexis Issette, second place, winners of the 2009 spelling bee. Their next step is the Diocesan Spelling Bee which is held here at St. Michael School Sat., Jan 9^th at 12:30 p.m. We thank our Knights of Columbus for sponsoring this annual event.

Christmas Shopping: Wednesday Dec. 2 is students’ Christmas Shopping Day at school. It is not a fundraiser. It is an economical way for some to shop who may not be able to do so for a loved one. Watch next week for note with directions if you are sending in money for this event.

Mrs. McCall: Mrs. McCall was out Thursday, and I want to thank her substitute,

Mr.Stan DeVoir, for coming in to help. Mr. DeVoir is our former assistant superintendent of the Mecosta-Osceola Intermediate School District. He is a member of our church, and as a newly retire educator has many services to offer. If you hear your child say there was a man in school and it is not Mr. Lenon or Mr. Lobert, probably it is going to be Mr. De Voir! Elementary schools typically have an over abundance of women!

Girls Athletics: Congratulations to St. Michael’s girls in grades 4 -5 – 6 for a fun filled volleyball season. The girls are moving on to basketball and have their first home game Mon. Nov. 23 at 5:30 p.m. All are welcome. Coach Hansen has commented that this is going to be an exciting basketball season.
